- ➤ Superior is hosting its 10th annual Lake Superior Ice Festival at Barkers Island on Jan. 30 (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and Jan. 31 (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.). The free celebration offers rides like an ice carousel, ice slide, pond hockey, curling, and ice skating to embrace winter. WDIO
- ➤ LiveWell hosted a community yoga and craft event on Wednesday, Jan. 28 to bring people together over the winter months. The University of Wisconsin Superior program offers weekly activities (like paddle boarding and hiking) to help locals stay active. WDIO
- ➤ City officials are meeting with community members to plan permanent memorials honoring Renee Good (killed Jan. 7) and Alex Pretti (shot Saturday) as they temporarily adjust parking and traffic near the Pretti memorial at Nicollet Avenue and 26th Street. KSTP
- ➤ Yesterday, Duluth Parks and Recreation held a public meeting to review planned upgrades at Norton Park, which include a new picnic pavilion, playground replacement, drainage repairs, and an accessible restroom. - ➤ Well Co. owner Melanie Dubbin purchased the former Kaski Inc. headquarters at 2321 W. First St. in Lincoln Park and will move her 27-employee wellness center from Hermantown this spring.
