CULTURE NEWS

  • Today through Sunday, Escape the Bong holds a three-day event with hour-long escape rooms, including Mission: Marge that challenges groups with puzzles about Papau New Guinea. Tickets cost $30 for adults and $20 for youth, and beer or wine is served for guests 21+ starting Friday at 5 p.m.  WDIO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Duluth invites residents to share input on the 270-acre Lester Park Golf Course land use study via a survey open until March 8; a public open house is scheduled for Monday, March 2 at 5:00 p.m. at Lester Park Elementary School (5300 Glenwood Street).  WDIO
  • The City of Duluth’s Engineering division will launch a Private Stormwater BMP Inspection and Maintenance Program this spring for commercial, multi-family and HOA properties to ensure stormwater controls protect local water resources. Owners with records will receive letters in April and must file annual reports by July 31.  WDIO
  • The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office reports a fiber optic issue causing sporadic cell coverage in parts of Duluth, Hermantown, and along Highway 53 from Virginia to Hibbing — they urge residents unable to call 9-1-1 on their cell phones to use a landline, text 9-1-1, or try wifi calling.  WDIO
