EDUCATION NEWS

  • Officials from the Carlton and Wrenshall school districts met Tuesday, Feb. 17 to discuss plans for using the South Terrace Elementary and Wrenshall buildings after voting to consolidate, with the merger set for July 1 to prepare for the 2026-2027 school year.  WDIO

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A winter storm is battering Duluth with strong winds, heavy snowfall, and blowing snow that have forced MnDOT to close some roads (check road conditions). The storm continues today.  WDIO
  • Power outages affected over 3,500 customers across Duluth & surrounding communities starting 6 a.m. Wednesday as utility crews worked to restore service while urging residents to avoid downed lines.  WDIO

SPORTS NEWS

  • Grandma's Marathon set a lineup of 10 Minnesota musicians for its 50th-anniversary race taking place June 19-21. The free music shows include acts at Bayfront Park on Friday and a full schedule of performances on Saturday.  WDIO
