GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Northland firefighters are training with the DNR using new equipment and improved communications — they are preparing for an active wildfire season and plan to hire more seasonal crews to help combat fast-growing fires. - ➤ MnDOT has begun scoping a plan to resurface a mile stretch of Highway 61 from just after the Lester River bridge to the start of the expressway and to update the busy junction with East Superior Street. Project manager Tom Lamb said officials are weighing a roundabout—improving traffic flow but costing more—against a simpler continuous tee as construction is scheduled to begin in 2029 and public feedback is still welcome. HEALTH NEWS
