ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Today, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ FalconCam showed the season's first peregrine falcon egg—viewers spotted one falcon moving the egg on the live feed—and DNR said more eggs may follow soon.  KSTP

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Yesterday, the Minnesota Department of Health laid off 170 employees and sent 300 notices, including rescinded offers for 20 new hires, after more than $220 million in federal grants was cut. The agency said it will reduce key public health services such as wastewater surveillance & vaccine clinics as it works to salvage essential programs.  KSTP
  • The Duluth International Airport is hosting a TSA PreCheck enrollment event in collaboration with IDEMIA — an authorized provider — at 4701 Grinden Dr. on the terminal's second floor from April 1 to April 4 with sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals and lawful permanent residents can enroll or renew their membership by providing required documents, fingerprints, a photo and paying the fee.  BusinessNorth
