  • Super One stores raised $56,000 in two and half weeks to support local men in the Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge program by covering operating costs at the Duluth campus — including housing, food and counseling. Donation boosts the Breezy Point 5K as it works toward a $1 million goal.  WDIO

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Consumer Reports advises that drivers ease speed, accelerate smoothly, and maintain tire pressure to add 6 to 7 mpg, while local drivers may save gas by removing heavy roof racks and using price apps. The tips aim to stretch every tank and reduce engine wear.  KSTP

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Anne Stevens, PhD, has been named the next dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at UMD pending Board of Regents approval, and her appointment is set to begin June 29.  WDIO

  • Duluth native Gianna Kneepkens was drafted 15th overall by the Connecticut Sun after a standout college career at Marshall, Utah and UCLA, making her the first Northland native in the WNBA since Megan Gustafson in 2019.  WDIO
