  • Family Rise Together bought the old Sunshine Cafe at 5719 Grand Ave and began fixing it up this winter so it can become a food service incubator with a commercial-grade kitchen for a 12-week training program—local entrepreneurs will use the space for take-out and catering ideas. The nonprofit has started a campaign to raise $250,000 to complete the remodel and boost West Duluth’s food market.  Perfect Duluth Day

  • Agate and Ore, the two female North American river otters at Great Lakes Aquarium, celebrated their 12th birthday today with cake and arts and crafts that let local children make birthday cards — a cherished event in an annual tradition.  WDIO

  • The Hermantown Chamber is hosting a job fair with over 20 employers on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Aspirus St. Luke's Sports and Events Center in Proctor — the event gives job seekers a chance to connect with employers including Duluth Public Schools and Economy Garages USA.  BusinessNorth
