Good morning, Duluth. Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 18th of April.

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials updated fish consumption guidelines due to PFAS found in Minnesota water bodies, affecting areas such as the Twin Cities metro and parts of Greater Minnesota. The advisory warns people not to eat all fish from Minnesota River Valley ponds and Long Meadow Lake, bass from Mooney Lake, and walleye from George Lake because PFAS exposure may cause developmental delays and liver changes.  KSTP
  • The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District is flying a helicopter over wetlands today—spraying dry pellets in the water to help stop mosquitoes from biting as the season nears. The group also reminded residents to clear standing water around homes to lower the risk of disease.  KSTP
