On Saturday, the EcoFaith Summit of the Upper Midwest (theme: From Fear to Fire, Igniting Community for a Planet in Peril) took place at First Lutheran Church in Duluth (where speakers and attendees discussed collaborating to heal the planet and bridge past divisions).
Ben Vaske and Violet Sigsworth won the Fitger’s 5K in downtown Duluth on Saturday as Vaske recorded the fastest men’s time since 2003 and Sigsworth became the youngest-ever women’s champion.
The race had 1,480 registrants including 395 kids and emphasized eco-friendly practices ahead of Earth Day.
