- ➤ Puzzle enthusiasts from Minnesota gathered at the DECC on Saturday to take part in the annual Duluth Jigsaw Puzzle Contest, where 250 entrants raced against the clock to complete 500-piece puzzles in team & individual events & a separate 1000-piece contest. WDIO

- ➤ Local artist Roy Liljequist returned to the stage at Ursa Minor Brewing in Duluth on May 3rd after undergoing treatment for stage two esophageal cancer — he had radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery nearly a year ago. He performed a selection of his original works and urged people to get checked if they experience unusual symptoms. WDIO
- ➤ On May 4, Duluth’s Victory Chorus—made up of people with dementia and their caregivers—performed its Celebration of Song concert to help lessen the stigma of dementia (boosting social ties among participants). WDIO
- ➤ The Northland Foundation awarded nine Native American individuals a total of $43,990 in Maada’ookiing grants for projects that teach Ojibwe language and preserve traditional arts in northeast MN, with winners in Duluth+ Cloquet and Tower.
