- ➤ A former Cloquet police officer, Lacie Marie Silgjord, was found guilty in Carlton County Court for financially exploiting a vulnerable woman aged 78 by accessing her bank accounts and trying to inherit her estate — she faces up to 10 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. KSTP

- ➤ Hermantown is planning a big industrial project on more than 200 acres as homeowners have received letters asking if they will sell their properties and trees may be removed later this year. - ➤ Linda Kingston, the campus vice president, was named president of Lake Superior College by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees and will start her role on July 1. - ➤ The West Superior Street Reconstruction Project will start later this year and cause temporary detours on the Cross City Trail in Lincoln Park, with route changes near the M&H gas station and from Carlton to 24th Avenue West — city officials will meet with community members in early June to discuss updates as plans await approval.
