- ➤ Candidates for Duluth City Council and the Independent School District #709 School Board filed as of 9 a.m. today — filing remains open until June 3 — with the primary scheduled on Aug. 12 and the general election on Nov. 4. Perfect Duluth Day
- ➤ On Thursday morning, Minnesota DNR officials advised on water safety as summer nears and extra enforcement will take place on the water this weekend. They warned boaters to wear life jackets—90% of boating deaths involved those not wearing them—and to avoid operating watercraft under the influence while new permit rules will apply starting July 1.
