- ➤ Derrick Vincent Weatherly pleaded guilty to third-degree murder for selling a fatal dose of fentanyl that led to Christopher Michael Sauve’s overdose death in Duluth — his plea agreement does not include a set sentence and he will argue for probation as sentencing is set for Aug. 14. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is expanding its deer feeding ban to include eight more counties—Anoka, Clay, Ramsey, Sherburne, Steele, Traverse, Wilkin and Wright—to help slow the spread of chronic wasting disease detected in wild deer last year. The ban now covers 32 counties and clarifies that items without added attractants such as nonscented ropes remain allowed. KSTP
