The Duluth NAACP held its annual Juneteenth celebration at Central Hillside Park today, marking over 50 years of unity with free haircuts and support for Black-owned businesses.

A street dance and concert is scheduled for tomorrow from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The annual Grandma's Marathon Spaghetti Dinner is set for tonight at the DECC, where 5,000–6,000 diners will enjoy a carb-loading feast of pasta, meatballs and sauce — leftovers are donated to local charities.

Rock the Bayfront Festival started on Friday, June 19 as part of Grandma’s Marathon weekend and continues today at Bayfront, with music playing from 9 a.m. until 11:45 p.m. & local bands set to energize the scene.

A new 3D running analysis system RunDNA Helix is available at an Essentia Health facility, giving local runners detailed feedback on stride, injury prevention, and rehab.

The system—funded partly by the Miller-Dwan Foundation—serves collegiate athletes, marathon competitors, and casual joggers.

Matthew Haas, a 39-year-old amputee from St. Paul, is running his third full marathon at Grandma’s using his carbon fiber prosthetic blade and has lost 60 pounds through a training routine of swimming, weightlifting & running that shows others they can overcome challenges.
