Fans lined the course today to cheer thousands of runners on Grandma's Marathon 26.2-mile route as the event celebrated its 50th year, with longtime volunteers at the pickle booth on London Road + 40th Avenue West adding a special touch of community spirit.

Luis Francisco Sanclemente won the men's Grandma's Wheelchair Marathon for the third consecutive year with an unofficial time of 1:33:33 + runner-up Josh Cassidy achieved a career-best finish at 1:33:45.

Amanuel Mesel won Grandma’s Marathon with an unofficial time of 2-11-18 and made history as the first Eritrean winner in the men’s race, outpacing six-time champion Elisha Barno by beating his 2-12-50 time from last year.

Runner Dakotah Popehn reclaimed Grandma's Marathon with an unofficial time of 2:28:51, becoming the third woman to win the race three times.

Bashanke Bilo placed second in her North American debut at the event.

Acer Iverson, 24, of Roseville won the men's division at the Gary Bjorklund Half Marathon with a time of 1:01:15, finishing ahead of Aidan Reed and Joe Klecker.

After a multi-year absence, Michelle Wheeler won her first Grandma's Wheelchair Marathon today with an unofficial time of 1:59:50.

The former champion, who has raced in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, had finished second in 2023 and fourth in 2022.
