Fond du Lac Band held a grand opening of the Cloquet District Elder Homes (Bapashkominitigong Chi aya’aawigamig) on Thursday, June 25.

The 18-unit facility, costing nearly $7.5 million and funded through the Indian Housing Block Grant Program, is designed to help tribal elders live independently.

Aspirus Health will consolidate operations for Lake View clinics by moving services from Silver Bay to Two Harbors while continuing primary care & lab & radiology services in Silver Bay on Wednesdays starting July 13.

Therapy services will run in Silver Bay Monday thru Thursday as employees transition.

Duluth residents can receive a free carbon monoxide detector from the Fire Department until July 9—eligible homes get a first come, first served installation by a firefighter after contacting via email or voicemail.
