GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A new Minnesota law lets motorcycles lane split and filter traffic to ease movement in slow or stopped lanes and will go into effect July 1. Public safety officials will launch a $200,000 campaign to educate drivers and riders on safe speed limits and rules that do not apply in one-lane construction areas, roundabouts or school zones—ensuring safer roads statewide.  KSTP
  • On June 25, the U.S. House passed a bipartisan resolution that condemned attacks on Minnesota lawmakers and urged unity against political violence. Introduced by Rep. Kelly Morrison on June 17, the resolution honored public servants like Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and recognized law enforcement for their rapid response after a June 15 attack that left Senator John Hoffman and his wife critically injured — calling on community leaders to repudiate violent rhetoric.  WDIO

HEALTH NEWS

  • During the June 25 session, Essentia Health and the Minnesota Nurses Association failed to resolve key issues like wages and staffing before the contract expires on June 30, and nurses authorized strike options amid claims of unfair labor practices.
