ECONOMY NEWS

  • Used cars are becoming harder to find and more expensive at local dealerships as Edmunds data shows a three-year-old vehicle now costs $31,000—up 40% from 2019 due to fewer new cars being produced during the pandemic. A Minnesota Automobile Dealers Association expert said the lack of new car production has led to a tighter supply of used vehicles.  KSTP

HEALTH NEWS

  • Twin Ports hospital nurses ratified a three-year contract on July 4 that gives them a 9.75% pay raise and extends scheduling to six weeks. Additional Essentia workers joined picket lines in Duluth and Superior, and four facilities suspended services—Essentia is contacting patients about new appointment times.  Superior Telegram
