U-Haul is offering 30 days free self-storage + U-Box container rentals for residents displaced by wildfires in northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.
The company will also provide discounted trailer rates for evacuees near the Superior National Forest.
United Way of Northeast Minnesota is coordinating wildfire relief efforts with local partners to aid evacuees using its Crisis and Disaster Recovery Fund.
Over $14,000 has been raised so far to support immediate needs in Ely and nearby communities (including supplies for firefighters and emergency responders).

Minnesota consumers with Bitcoin Depot funds can file refund claims after the kiosk filed for bankruptcy by calling, emailing, or using the online system, according to the Department of Commerce (crypto kiosk scams led to nearly $1 million in losses).
The state will ban crypto kiosks effective Aug. 1.

Local health experts report that prolonged wildfire smoke across the Northland remains a concern.
