The Minnesota Department of Health is tracking rising tularemia cases in people and pets — especially cats — and urges pet owners to keep animals indoors to avoid contact with wildlife carrying the bacterium.
The Department of Health, Board of Animal Health and Department of Natural Resources will update safety guidelines if more cases emerge.
