On Sunday, multiple fire departments and the county sheriff’s office responded to a grass fire in Gnesen Township near the 7500 block of Vermilion Trail, and no injuries or damage were reported.
Changes are coming to the 2027 John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon, which will run a 330-mile out-and-back course from Duluth to Two Harbors with 18 rest hours for mushers; the race is set for January 31.
