ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday morning, Gilbert police responded to an ATV accident at the Iron Range Off Highway Vehicle State Recreation Area in which 26 year old Tia Muller died and a 25 year old man was seriously injured when his vehicle was taken by air to Essentia Health in Duluth—early reports say the victims were not found until pinned under the ATV. - ➤ At about 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, a capsized kayak was found full of water along Stoney Point Drive near North Shore Drive and rescue teams, including the U.S. Coast Guard and county units, searched the water while the owner confirmed the kayak broke away—triggered by high winds and large waves. - ➤ The Coast Guard rescued four children stranded on a rock near the Black Beach Trailhead on Lake Superior Sunday night — an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter hoisted them safely and emergency crews checked them before they were reunited with their parents. KSTP
