Gemma Davies painted 90 rocks to honor her late father, Reggie, on what would have been his 90th birthday on Monday.
The art therapy project placed the painted rocks across Duluth’s Northland and invites locals to share photos (via #90RocksforReggie) to keep his memory alive.
📰 Economy
Minnesota added over 44,000 jobs in the past year, but July saw a loss of 1,900 jobs and a drop of 4,000 in the labor force, with the unemployment rate falling to 4.3%.
DEED will release the next report on Sept. 17.
🎓 Education
State officials said the Minnesota Department of Revenue will allow families who save their back-to-school receipts to claim K-12 tax breaks when filing next year.
The benefits include a refundable credit with income limits and a subtraction for qualifying school supplies for students in public, private or home schools.
🏥 Health
Minnesota Department of Health and Department of Agriculture warned Minnesotans not to eat alfalfa sprouts from the Calco and Everything Sprouts brand after 23 cases of E. coli and salmonella infections were reported between July 8 and Aug.
8 (including two hospitalizations) and 18 cases in Wisconsin.
