- ➤ On Saturday, the Carlton County Sheriff's Office found a 48-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man dead after their group separated when their side-by-side ATV crashed and overturned into water on Ditch Bank Forest Road in Progress Township—authorities said the crash remains under investigation. - ➤ Duluth’s historic south lighthouse may open for tours by 2027 if funds are raised. The Lake Superior Marine Museum Association is spending $75,000 on repairs while a nonprofit works on a second lighthouse with grants—both groups aim to let visitors explore local maritime history.
