Residents gathered Tuesday evening at Lafayette Square Community Center to hear Minnesota State Demographer Susan Brower explain Park Point's shifting demographics (the data showed a steady population decline, more one- and two-person households, and increased vacant seasonal homes).

Veterans have joined an annual retreat organized by the Richard I.

Bong Veterans Historical Center at a local resort in the Boundary Waters to reflect on their service and share stories. The event, held since 2018, gives a quiet place for bonding (including many Vietnam veterans).

Companies to Classrooms helps teachers lower classroom supply costs by offering donated materials and funds; donations are collected on the second Saturday of each month and shopping is available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3–6 p.m. Educators in 16 districts across Minnesota and Wisconsin can access free supplies with valid ID or a note from their principal.

Endangered piping plovers nested at Wisconsin Point in Superior this summer — the first occurrence since 1977 — after a $4.5 million habitat recovery project dredged 87,000 cubic yards from Duluth-Superior Harbor, officials said.
