GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Local leaders and the family of late firefighter Mike Paidar joined U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar on Friday to support the federal Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act— a bill that will expand help for families of first responders and is still waiting for a final vote at the Capitol. Paidar’s death from cancer in 2020 spurred this push as local advocates work to ensure similar losses are better supported in the future. KSTP
- ➤ City of Duluth contractors will start work on lead water service lines on Monday along 24th Avenue West which will close the road from Superior Street to Tenth Street— the main route from Lincoln Park to Piedmont Heights. The closure will last about two weeks and drivers and pedestrians should use alternate routes. BusinessNorth
