CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Lake Superior Marine Museum Association acquired the South Lighthouse at the end of the Canal and now plans to restore it after over 120 years of service. The museum will open the historic lighthouse for tours as soon as 2027 as it works to remove hazards—pigeon droppings, lead paint, and asbestos—while preserving its local history. WDIO
- ➤ On Sunday, 64 dachshunds raced at Duluth Oktoberfest's Dachshund Derby—repeated champion Ragnar won the race as dog owners Terri Field and Gwen Ritter prepared their dogs with special training and meals. WDIO

- ➤ Hundreds participated in the NorthShore Inline Marathon on Saturday, September 13th, which stretched from Two Harbors to the William A. Irvin. Nolan Beddiaf won the men's race in 55:22.54 and Laura Alejandra Perdomo Moreno won the women's race in 1:04:49.56. WDIO

Women Gonna Lift Pop-Up Lifting Event
Join us for a FREE women's lifting event hosted at Northland Fitness in Lincoln Park. Suggested donation of $20 to Duluth Center For Women and Children (more info on this cause and how to donate in the sign up link!). This event is perfect for novice AND experienced lifters who want to have some fun lifting while raising money for a local cause! We are planning to back squat together for his pop-up. If you are a novice lifter there will be a physical therapist and personal trainer present to help you know exactly what to do! This is also an awesome opportunity to tour Northland Fitness and try out a new gym for free!
