- ➤ Tanner Johnson of the Beyond the Breakers podcast said the Edmund Fitzgerald is famous for its mystery and human loss — setting it apart from other Great Lakes shipwrecks. The podcast will release five new episodes from Oct. 13 that explain how this wreck compares to others like the Daniel J. Morrell and Carl D. Bradley. Superior Telegram
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Minnesota fell on Monday, with the state average now at $3.03 per gallon and Duluth Circle K stations showing prices of $2.89 and $2.96—while stations in Superior dropped as low as $2.68 per gallon. WDIO
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On September 23, several stakeholders gathered at the St. Louis River estuary to honor decades of cleanup work started under the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. The celebration featured a pontoon trip to Interstate Island and a fishing lesson for youth — signs of ongoing efforts to restore the area. WDIO
- ➤ When severe weather comes, Duluth residents are advised to unplug expensive electronics before outages begin to prevent damage. Experts recommend using surge protectors—especially for phones and laptops—to provide extra safety during high winds and power surges. KSTP
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Essentia Health said the quadruplets born at Essentia St. Mary’s earlier this summer have been discharged from NICU and are healthy— the infants were born 11 weeks early and represent the first set since 1999 with their discharge occurring throughout September. WDIO

Join us for a FREE women's lifting event hosted at Northland Fitness in Lincoln Park. Suggested donation of $20 to Duluth Center For Women and Children (more info on this cause and how to donate in the sign up link!). This event is perfect for novice AND experienced lifters who want to have some fun lifting while raising money for a local cause! We are planning to back squat together for his pop-up. If you are a novice lifter there will be a physical therapist and personal trainer present to help you know exactly what to do! This is also an awesome opportunity to tour Northland Fitness and try out a new gym for free!
