  • Johnson Wilson Constructors has been awarded the Chum Shelter Renovation and Expansion contract after nearly two years of planning and fundraising—this project will begin this month to double shelter bed capacity and expand services for people experiencing homelessness.   • Retired Gen. Michael “Erik” Kurilla of Elk River, who served as CENTCOM commander since 2022, will be the keynote speaker at the Minnesotans’ Military Appreciation Fund dinner in Bloomington on October 17 — an event that supports military veterans of the War on Terror.
