Good morning, Duluth.
🏘️ Community
The St. Louis River Alliance’s 2026 Membership Drive, which began Oct.
19, runs through Dec. 10 to support local river restoration with free events like beginner kayaking and plant walks and gives new members a chance to win a kayak trip (drawing held at Clyde Iron on Dec. 10).
🏛️ Government
Effective immediately, the harborside pedestrian walkway of the Aerial Lift Bridge is closed for repair work that will continue intermittently throughout the fall, so city officials advise pedestrians to use the lakeside east side walkway until the work is complete.
On Oct. 17 in Two Harbors, local leaders and senators discussed a new helium industry focused on job growth + rail infrastructure improvements, including plans for advanced helium processing at a Rare Gas Hub.
The city recently approved a $1 land deal with Pulsar Helium to support the project.
