BUSINESS NEWS

  • Pulsar Helium began drilling its fourth appraisal well near Babbitt on November 9 as part of its Topaz project. The company said its Jetstream #3 well (drilled to 3,507 feet) produced strong pressure readings while Jetstream #4 will be drilled to 3,000 feet (as planned) to help develop Minnesota’s first commercial helium operation.  BusinessNorth

CULTURE NEWS

  • More than 2,000 people attended the memorial at Split Rock Lighthouse on Monday to mark the 50th anniversary of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sinking—the event included reading crew names and tolling a ship’s bell. Former lighthouse keeper Lee Radzak explained he started the annual tribute 40 years ago to honor the 29 crew members lost on the lake.  KSTP

  • Essentia Health-Ashland Clinic welcomed Dr. Emily Edwards, a doctor of osteopathic medicine specializing in family medicine with obstetrics who earned her degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in Duluth. Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic also welcomed certified physician assistant Anna Featherston, who practices neurosurgery + studied at Des Moines University.  BusinessNorth
