- ➤ The Duluth Police Department warned residents about a mountain lion sighting in the area and advised them to keep a safe distance, while the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources monitors the situation with no further law enforcement action planned. WDIO
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Pulsar Helium began drilling its fifth appraisal well near Babbitt on Nov. 28 (rigging-up started on Nov. 27) as it expands a helium exploration following previous wells that recorded high concentrations. The company plans to drill up to 10 wells to develop Minnesota’s first commercial helium operation. BusinessNorth

- ➤ The Duluth Airport Authority announced Cole Venberg as the new manager of Sky Harbor Airport. He brings over 15 years of aviation experience + will work with tenants, pilots and the community to maintain safe, efficient operations. BusinessNorth
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Duluth Battle of the Badges blood drive, organized by first responders with the Red Cross, will be held tomorrow at First United Methodist Church from noon to 6 p.m. It seeks donations of all blood types, especially negative ones, to help meet urgent holiday needs. WDIO
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Downtown demolition work continues as the cost to stabilize the historic New Garrick building at 128 West First Street has risen from $967,000 to over $2.5 million, officials said. WDIO
- ➤ The Duluth Economic Development Authority approved a plan to transfer 230 acres from Lester Park Golf Course for rezone and redevelopment, pending a land use study to guide future housing proposals. The City Council will vote on the sale on Monday, Dec. 8. WDIO

- ➤ Hornets Nest has opened in Duluth Heights after five days of flooding and freezing, with 30 volunteers working through Thanksgiving weekend. The facility on Mullberry Street features three rinks (one for non-hockey fun) where the community can skate for free when practice is not in session. WDIO
