CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The College of St. Scholastica starts the holiday season with its annual O Holy Night concert this weekend. Student and faculty musicians will perform today at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary and again tomorrow. WDIO
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Endangered pygmy slow loris twins were born Nov. 17 at Lake Superior Zoo and are thriving under close care from staff, marking a hopeful milestone for the species as visitors can view the primates during regular hours and during the Zoo Lights event on weekend evenings. WDIO
- ➤ A mountain lion was spotted in Duluth, prompting local police to urge residents to keep a safe distance and report any sightings to the Minnesota DNR. The DNR noted that encounters are rare and reminded residents to follow safety measures if they see the animal. KSTP
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Dakota Lundstrom joined Aspirus St. Luke’s Hermantown Clinic and brings local expertise from the Iron Range (where he grew up), a Virginia High School graduate who earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School Duluth, and he will focus on building strong patient relationships. - ➤ St. Louis County Sheriff's Office now uses the LUCAS 3 automated CPR device for remote emergencies. Trained deputies in Ely and Cook rotate carrying the tool to ease long chest compressions, plus 65 AEDs in squad cars have been used 51 times to save lives. WDIO
- ➤ Stepping on Up and Recovery Alliance Duluth taught local residents how to save lives by administering Narcan at Trinity Lutheran Church, and health officials say the session is part of an effort to reduce opioid overdoses with more training planned for 2026. WDIO
