  • Grandma’s Marathon will mark its 50th anniversary in 2026 by offering free entries for kids 18 and under at five races on Mar. 14, Apr. 18, Jul. 16, Sept. 11 and Oct. 24; registration begins (Jan. 1).  WDIO

BUSINESS NEWS

  • BP Builders purchased the Esko building that once housed Yelloh, the rebranded Schwan’s facility that closed in late Sept., and will now use it as its headquarters — CEO Glenn Plante said the move signals strong local investment.  WDIO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Boys and Girls Club of the Northland is working to expand access in Duluth by adding school-based sites and improving bus service to current clubhouses. The nonprofit aims to include two more local schools next year as part of its effort to serve more kids from Lincoln Park Middle, Denfeld High, and Piedmont School.  WDIO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Department of Human Services paused licensing for new adult day centers for two years while investigators examine kickback allegations amid a 43% rise in providers over the past five years. The agency canceled nine pending applications to protect services for more than 6,500 adults.  KSTP
  • Attorney General Ellison announced a settlement with Menards — the deal requires the retailer to clarify its '11% OFF' rebate offer and prevent price increases during economic disruptions — and Minnesota will receive $632,167, with the company expected to update its practices soon.  WDIO
