- ➤ Minnesota Power ended its role as a power purchaser at the Nemadji Trail Energy Center in Superior after local zoning was denied and key permits expired. The withdrawal stops plans to buy part of the plant's output. BusinessNorth

- ➤ Resource Renew has launched its annual Treecycling program for disposing of old Christmas trees (free of decorations). The service runs Dec. 21 to Jan. 31 at several Duluth sites and turns trees into compost. WDIO
